The Juniper Foundation is a Toronto-based, family-led philanthropic organization with an endowment, committed to protecting and restoring the natural environment. Focused on protecting vulnerable ecosystems and restoring degraded landscapes, the Foundation supports impactful initiatives in Canada and globally through strategic philanthropy, education, and advocacy. With priorities that include preservation and restoration of biodiverse ecosystems threatened by climate change, habitat loss, and species extinction., the Foundation works to advance long-term environmental solutions.

The Juniper Foundation is seeking its inaugural Executive Director (ED), responsible for translating the founders’ vision into a dynamic and focused strategy. Reporting directly to the Board and working collaboratively with the CFO and the founding family, who remain actively engaged in the foundation’s direction, the Executive Director will lead the organization in its mission of global preservation and restoration of biodiverse ecosystems by providing strategic leadership, setting a clear vision, and ensuring the effective implementation of the Foundation's initiatives. This is a rare opportunity to lead a well-capitalized foundation at a pivotal moment in its evolution, shaping its strategic direction, deepening its impact, and building transformative partnerships in Canada and beyond.

The ideal candidate for the ED position will be an authentic, entrepreneurial, and visionary leader with a hands-on approach and a profound commitment to environmental conservation. The successful candidate will possess a proven track record of effective leadership, leveraging their intellectual curiosity for innovative solutions and excellent communication skills to address complex global challenges in the realms of nature-based solutions and conservation. With a solid blend of interpersonal, strategic, and relationship-building skills, combined with a deep understanding of stakeholder engagement, the ideal candidate will be poised to drive the Juniper Foundation towards greater impact, steering the organization through its dynamic evolution while championing its mission.
